Claus Wilke is a computational biologist, data scientist, and digital artist. He has extensive background in data visualization, including having written several widely used software packages as well as the popular book “Fundamentals of Data Visualization.” While writing this book, Claus realized he was more interested in the visualization than the data, and this realization has led him to pursuing generative art. Claus has been active in the NFT and crypto-art space since 2021, and he has published works on several platforms including Foundation, fx(hash), EmProps, and Highlight. He primarily makes art using generative algorithms, data science tools, and/or AI. Claus is interested in exploring the properties and limitations of these tools and how they behave when used in an unconventional manner.
